The turning point arrived in the bottom of the eighth. Nimmo singled to right field, and Duran scored to tie the game at 3-3. Nimmo then advanced to third base on a throwing error by the Marlins’ catcher, Michael Rogers. With the tying run in scoring position, Nimmo scored on a sacrifice fly by Josh Jung, giving the Rangers a 4-3 lead. The Rangers held on for the win, with Jakob Junis earning the save.

Pitching Performances

Tyler Phillips started for the Marlins, pitching six innings and allowing two earned runs on five hits while striking out four batters. He was supported by Michael Petersen, Anthony Bender, and Calvin Faucher in relief. Faucher took the loss after allowing two earned runs in one inning. Dax Fulton closed out the game for Miami with a scoreless inning.

For the Rangers, Kumar Rocker started and pitched five innings, giving up two earned runs on five hits while striking out nine. Tyler Alexander, Robby Ahlstrom, and Jakob Junis provided relief. Ahlstrom earned the win with a scoreless inning, and Jacob Latz recorded the save with 1.1 innings of work, striking out two batters.
