Decisive Moment
The outcome of the contest was settled in the seventh inning when Sebastian Rodriguez launched a three-run home run to left-center field, measuring 410 feet. The blast provided the margin that ultimately defined the game, as the Seattle Mariners held on to defeat the Texas Rangers 4-3 at T-Mobile Park.
Prior to Rodriguez’s power display, the Rangers had established an early lead. In the third inning, Marcus Pederson homered to right-center field (385 feet), driving in Jose Lopez to give Texas a 2-0 advantage. The Rangers extended their lead to 3-0 in the fifth inning when Lopez reached on a bunt single to the pitcher, allowing Nathaniel Lowe to score from second base.
Seattle began its rally in the bottom of the seventh with Evan Carter reaching base. Canzone followed with a single to left field, scoring Arozarena to cut the deficit to 3-1. The inning turned completely when Rodriguez connected off the Rangers’ bullpen, clearing the bases and putting Seattle ahead for good.
Pitching Performances
Logan Gilbert earned the win for Seattle, pitching seven innings and allowing three runs on three hits with two walks and 11 strikeouts. He was supported by Gabe Speier, who pitched a scoreless eighth inning while striking out two batters. Andres Munoz closed the game in the ninth, recording the save despite issuing two walks.
For Texas, Jacob deGrom started strong, retiring the first 15 batters he faced before allowing his first hit. He finished with six innings of work, surrendering just one hit and no earned runs while striking out 12. However, the bullpen struggled to maintain the lead.
