Giants build the lead
The San Francisco Giants’ deciding cushion came in the top of the second inning, and Lee later added two home runs in a 5-1 win over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, at Globe Life Field.
San Francisco went ahead 1-0 when Gilbert singled to right and Susac scored on a fielding error by right fielder Nimmo, with Gilbert advancing to third. Basabe followed with a sacrifice fly to right that brought in Gilbert and gave the Giants a 2-0 lead.
Lee adds on
Lee stretched the margin in the top of the third with a home run to right center measured at 410 feet, making it 3-0. The score stayed there until the top of the eighth, when Lee homered again to right center, this one measured at 385 feet, for a 4-0 San Francisco lead.
The Giants added their final run in the top of the ninth. Lee hit a sacrifice fly to center, scoring McCray and pushing San Francisco ahead 5-0.
Webb controls Texas
Logan Webb earned the win for San Francisco, improving to 7-7. He pitched six scoreless innings, allowing five hits and one walk while striking out eight.
