The decisive shift occurred in the sixth inning, where Phoenix erupted for six runs to break the game open decisively. Early Scoring and the Fifth-Inning Trade
The Rangers took the lead in the top of the fifth inning. MacKenzie Gore was on the mound for Texas when the offense got its only run of the day. The sequence began with Pederson doubling to right, allowing Burger to score and Jansen to advance to third.
The score was tied 1-1 after Vargas hit a ground rule double, scoring Lawlar and moving Waldschmidt to third.
