A Fifth-Inning Surge Changes the Game
The Texas Rangers built their lead on a six-run explosion in the fifth inning that broke open a tight contest against the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre. The scoring began when Burger singled to left field, driving in Jung with the team’s second run of the game. That was quickly followed by Osuna’s single to center, which allowed Burger and Nimmo to cross the plate, extending the advantage to 4-0.
The offensive pressure continued immediately after. Díaz doubled to right field, bringing Osuna and Duran home to push the score to 6-0. The Rangers’ dominance in the frame was complete, turning a one-run game into a commanding lead that the Blue Jays could not overcome.
Home Runs Provide Additional Punch
While the Rangers’ five-run innings provided the foundation, two key home runs added to the final tally. In the sixth inning, Seager launched a 391-foot homer to right center, increasing the margin to 7-2. The Blue Jays responded later in the same inning with back-to-back homers. Pinango hit a 415-foot shot to right center to score Clement, making it 7-3. Kirk then followed with a 409-foot home run to left field, assisted by Giménez’s single, to bring the final score to 7-4.
