Pederson's two homers lead Rangers past Mariners 7-3

Pederson drives in key runs

Joc Pederson provided the offensive spark for the Texas Rangers with two home runs, helping secure a 7-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners. The win improved the Rangers' record to 54-52, while Seattle fell to 52-55.

Pederson’s first blast came in the top of the first inning, a 418-foot shot to center field that gave the Rangers an early 1-0 lead. He extended the advantage in the second inning with a three-run home run to right field (347 feet). That single play scored Pederson, along with teammates Lopez and Díaz, shifting the score to 4-1.

Rangers build momentum

The Mariners responded briefly in the second inning when Arozarena hit a solo home run to center field (395 feet), making it 4-2. However, Texas regained control in the third inning with a flurry of offense.

Kumar Rocker pitched effectively for the Rangers, allowing just two earned runs over 6.2 innings while striking out seven batters. His performance earned him the win, improving his record to 4-8. Rocker faced 26 batters and kept Seattle’s lineup in check despite giving up four hits.

In the bottom of the third, Duran launched a home run to left-center field (436 feet) to make it 5-2. Burger followed with a two-run homer to left-center (403 feet), scoring Carter and pushing the margin to 7-2.

Mariners rally late

Seattle managed to score in the ninth inning when Crawford hit a sacrifice fly to left field, allowing Naylor to cross the plate. The final tally stood at 7-3.

George Kirby took the loss for Seattle, pitching four innings and allowing seven hits and seven earned runs while striking out three. He now holds an 8-9 record.

Pitching support

Relievers from both sides worked in the middle frames. For Texas, Robby Ahlstrom pitched 0.1 scoreless innings, Jakob Junis threw one inning allowing one hit and a walk, and Jacob Latz closed out the game with a perfect inning despite giving up two hits.

Seattle’s bullpen included Jose Ferrer, Michael Rucker, Cole Wilcox, and Alex Hoppe, who combined for four scoreless innings. Hoppe struck out three batters in his appearance.

The game was played at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, with an attendance of 27,683 spectators.
