Free catalytic converter etching event scheduled for September 25

The Colony Police Department will host a free catalytic converter etching event open to the public on Friday, September 25, 2026. The event is designed to help deter theft by marking vehicles, and participation is available at no cost to residents.

The etching process will take place at the police department located at 5151 North Colony Blvd. Participants must enter from the east side of the building, which is nearest the water tower. A staff member will be stationed at the sliding metal gate to check attendees in and direct them to the appropriate area.

Because there are limited spots available, residents are required to sign up in advance. Each registration slot includes a designated arrival time for the vehicle. The department advises participants to select a time frame that fits their schedule. The etching process itself will take less than 15 minutes per vehicle.
