Dominant Offensive Display

The Los Angeles Angels delivered a comprehensive offensive performance on Thursday night, overwhelming the Texas Rangers with a 13-1 victory at Globe Life Field. The game was defined by long-ball power, as four home runs accounted for the majority of the scoring. Jo Adell led the charge with two multi-hit innings, while Mike Trout added two more blasts to dismantle the Rangers' pitching staff.

Early Lead and Middle Innings Surge

The Angels took control early, breaking the scoreless tie in the first inning. Grissom singled to left field, allowing Neto to cross the plate for the initial 1-0 advantage. The lead doubled in the fourth inning when Adell launched a 359-foot home run to right field, driving in Grissom to make it 3-0.

The offense continued to pile on runs in the fifth inning. Grissom singled to left, bringing Neto home for a 4-0 lead. Shortly after, Adell connected again, this time hitting a 433-foot home run to center field. The blast scored both Trout and Grissom, extending the Angels' lead to 7-0 in a single swing.

In the sixth inning, Grissom doubled to right field, and Lowe and Neto scored to push the margin to 9-0. The Angels' pitching held firm through the early innings, with Walbert Urena pitching four scoreless innings, striking out three batters while allowing only one hit and five walks.

Late Inning Power and Relief Support

The Angels added two more runs in the eighth inning. Trout homered to left center, a 438-foot shot that scored Lowe, making it 11-0. The Rangers managed to get on the board in the same inning when Higashioka hit a 389-foot home run to left center, narrowing the deficit to 11-1.

In the ninth inning, Peraza hit a sacrifice fly to right field, allowing Adell to score for a 12-1 lead. Siri then singled to left, scoring Guzman to finalize the 13-1 final score. The Angels' bullpen maintained the shutout through the final innings, with Samy Natera Jr. earning the win after pitching two scoreless innings with five strikeouts. Ryan Zeferjahn, Jose Fermin, and Mitch Farris each pitched one inning, combining to keep the Rangers from adding any more runs.

Final Records

The loss drops the Texas Rangers to 46-46 on the season. The Angels improve their record to 37-56. The game drew an attendance of 23,288 at Globe Life Field.
