The Texas Rangers defeated the Los Angeles Angels 2-1 on Saturday, Aug. 22, at Globe Life Field in Arlington. The game remained scoreless through the first nine innings before both clubs exchanged runs in the top of the 10th. The Angels took a 1-0 lead when Siri scored on a double to left by Guzman. The Rangers tied the game at 1-1 when Carter crossed the plate on a double to right by Langford. The decisive run came when Langford scored on an infield single to third by Duran, which was followed by a throwing error by third baseman Guzman that allowed Langford to reach the plate. Nimmo advanced to second on the play. The final score was 2-1 in favor of the home team.

Pitching Performance

MacKenzie Gore led the Rangers' pitching staff with six scoreless innings. He allowed two hits, walked one batter, and struck out seven. The Rangers' bullpen remained dominant in the later innings. Cole Winn pitched one scoreless inning, allowing no hits and striking out two batters. Chase Silseth followed with one scoreless inning, one hit, one walk, and one strikeout. Jacob Latz recorded one scoreless inning, one hit, one walk, and two strikeouts. Tyler Alexander earned the win with one inning of relief, allowing one hit and striking out two batters without issuing a walk.

Angels' Effort

Reid Detmers started for the Angels and pitched six scoreless innings. He surrendered six hits, walked one batter, and recorded five strikeouts.
