TCU coach Sonny Dykes said wide receiver Jordan Dwyer is expected to play against UCF on Sept. 26, when the Horned Frogs open Big 12 competition. Dwyer has missed TCU’s first three games of the 2026 season because of a foot injury.
Dykes provided the update after TCU’s 31-7 victory over Arkansas State, saying, “We expect Jordan to play next week.” He added that Dwyer’s return would give the team a lift.
TCU enters conference play with a 2-1 record. Dwyer’s availability for the UCF game remains expected rather than confirmed beyond the coach’s update.
Dwyer transferred to TCU from Idaho and was among the Horned Frogs’ most productive offensive players in 2025. He started all of the team’s regular-season games, recording 54 catches for 730 yards and seven touchdowns. In his TCU debut against North Carolina, Dwyer had nine receptions for 136 yards and one touchdown.
With Dwyer sidelined, Ed Small has taken on a larger role and become one of TCU’s leading receivers. Tight end Kari Ashley also contributed against Arkansas State, giving quarterback Jaden Craig several options during the opening games.
