SMU has brought fifth-year guard Oziyah Sellers into its men’s basketball program, with the school saying he is enrolled and practicing as he awaits an eligibility decision. The announcement did not include a timeline for that decision.
Sellers arrives in Dallas after starting 36 games for St. John’s during the 2025-26 season. He averaged 10.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists as the Red Storm went 30-7 and captured the Big East championship.
His college career also includes a starting season at Stanford in 2024-25, when he averaged 13.7 points per game in the ACC. Before that, he played two seasons at USC, where SMU coach Andy Enfield was his coach. Sellers has made 37.8% of his career three-point attempts, including a sophomore-season best of 42.9% at USC. He has made 86.9% of his free throws.
SMU is entering its third season under Enfield. The program’s 2026-27 transfer group is ranked No. 21 nationally by On3.
