Angela Stanford is returning to TCU as an assistant coach for the university's women's golf team, rejoining the program where she became one of its most accomplished players.
Stanford, who is from Saginaw, about 15 miles from Fort Worth, played for the Horned Frogs between 1996 and 2000. She earned TCU All-American honors four times, a program record, and remains the school's only four-time All-American. Her 10 victories also remain the TCU record.
Head coach Ravaioli-Larkin said TCU is thrilled to have Stanford back and identified her experience as a major champion and her leadership of the U.S. Solheim Cup team as valuable additions. Stanford's hiring followed her recent work as U.S. captain at the Solheim Cup. TCU described her as the team's third coach, but did not provide additional details about her responsibilities.
