Texas Tech has finalized its non-conference football lineup for the 2030 season by adding a home contest against Texas State. The matchup is set for Sept. 14, 2030, according to a contract revealed through an open-records request and reported by FBSchedules.com. As part of the deal, the Red Raiders are required to remit a $1.2 million payment to the Bobcats.

This addition completes the 2030 slate, which also includes an Aug. 31 season opener against Arkansas in Las Vegas and a home game against Fresno State one week before the Texas State visit. Despite securing this slot, the program still needs to fill non-conference openings for 2027, 2028, and 2029.

These gaps resulted from recent cancellations, including Mississippi State dropping a two-game series due to SEC scheduling changes, North Carolina State buying out a 2027 Lubbock game, and Texas Tech terminating a 2027 road trip to North Texas.

Currently, the Red Raiders have two non-conference home games booked for each of the years 2027, 2028, and 2029. Financial guarantees for these future matchups vary between $300,000 and $1 million based on the opponent and location.

Other schedule adjustments include moving a 2034 home game against Arkansas from its original 2030 date to accommodate the Vegas Kickoff Classic, and shifting a 2033 road game at Oregon from 2024 to preserve the Oregon-Oregon State rivalry.
