Plano has announced that the Miyako Hybrid Hotel will open in late 2027. The 217-room property is designed to blend Japanese craftsmanship with Texas hospitality, targeting both business and leisure travelers. The city is located approximately 12 miles east of The Colony.
The hotel will include 11 suites, headlined by a signature Imperial Suite. Public areas aim to balance refined Japanese aesthetics with modern Texas comfort. Amenities include a traditional Japanese restaurant, a Japanese bakery, an upscale lobby lounge, and a rooftop bar offering panoramic views. The property also provides more than 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
Development of the project has spanned several years. Plans for Texas’ first Miyako Hybrid Hotel were first unveiled in 2024. Construction officially began after developers broke ground on the site. The timeline remains on track for the late 2027 opening date.
Plano approved economic incentives to support the project, citing its cultural significance and long-term economic impact. The city recognizes the hotel as a symbol of its longstanding relationship with Japan. The Legacy area, which hosts numerous Japanese companies and serves as an international business hub, is considered a natural location for the property.
