Plano is adding five new dining establishments to its commercial landscape, with three locations already serving customers and two more preparing to open their doors later this year. Plano is about 12 miles east of The Colony.
Yang’s Smokehouse began operations on June 19 at 240 Legacy Drive, Suite 306. The establishment features a menu centered on meat skewers, including sliced beef, pork belly, lamb, and chicken wings. Additional offerings include grilled vegetables, fried rice, stir-fry dishes, noodles, and ribs. The restaurant also lists an adventurous category that features spicy roasted pig brain.
A second smokehouse concept opened on June 17 at 2104 Preston Road. This location provides five distinct spice levels, ranging from mild to an option labeled Shut the Cluck Up. Patrons seeking milder flavors can order classic Southern fried chicken or items with a sweet and smoky dry rub. Popular menu items include a classic chicken sandwich with custom sauce and pickles, as well as dirty bird fries topped with pimento mac and cheese. Dessert selections consist of banana pudding, peach cobbler, and a waffle sundae.
A third venue opened on June 13 at 5973 West Parker Road, located in West Plano Village near the intersection of Parker Road and the Dallas North Tollway. This site occupies the space previously held by Kona Grill, which closed in June 2025. The new business will serve wings and sandwiches.
Looking ahead, a Greek restaurant known for Kalamakia, or Greek meat skewers, is scheduled to open in September 2026 at 1016 E. 15th St. The chain, which currently has a location in Anna, will offer skewers made with chicken, pork, lamb, or vegetables. The menu will also include soups, salads, gyros, wraps, and other Greek dishes.
