The Houston Astros secured a 9-7 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, thanks to a decisive three-run home run by Joey Loperfido in the top of the 11th inning. The blast at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, broke a 6-6 tie and provided the margin needed to improve the Astros' record to 38-43, while the Blue Jays fell to 39-40.
Loperfido’s shot, which traveled 379 feet to right field, also drove in Altuve and Alvarez. The Astros added a run in the bottom of the inning when Okamoto singled to left, scoring Guerrero Jr. to finalize the 9-7 score.
Early Astros Surge
Houston established an early lead, jumping out to a 4-0 advantage in the fourth inning. The scoring began with a single by Paredes to center that brought Altuve home in the first. For Toronto, Shane Bieber took the loss, pitching 3.7 innings and allowing nine hits and four earned runs. Tyler Rogers recorded the save, pitching one inning and allowing one hit and one earned run. Braydon Fisher, who allowed two earned runs in two innings, took the loss. Other Blue Jays pitchers included Tommy Nance, Mason Fluharty, Spencer Miles, and Jeff Hoffman.
