A new drive-thru drink shop with a beach-resort theme is getting ready to serve customers at 4740 S. Colony Blvd., the first location for a brand its founders plan to spread across Dallas-Fort Worth.
Sunfly Sips and Snacks was started by Matt Bailey and John Brennan, who also run full-service restaurants. Local Profile reported Friday that the shop will open Oct. 16.
The company's own website still listed The Colony location as opening soon as of Friday, and a trade publication, QSR Web, described the location as already open, so the exact first day of business had not been confirmed by the company.
"John Brennan, my business partner, and I wanted to bring the creativity and quality of our full-service restaurants to a fast, approachable, yet elevated drive-thru experience," Bailey said in a statement quoted by Local Profile.
The menu
The company says its drinks are built the way a bar builds cocktails, with glazes made in house. The lineup is split into 15 families, including nitro lemonades, matcha drinks topped with fruit cold foam, nitro cold brew drinks, sparkling sodas and coconut water and aloe drinks.
Customers can add protein, collagen, prebiotic fiber, caffeine or electrolytes, and choose from 11 cold foam flavors in dairy or coconut milk, according to the website.
Food changes with the time of day. Morning items, served from 6 to 11:30 a.m., include scones and cinnamon buns baked on site, wraps and egg sandwiches. From 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. the shop offers pretzel bites with queso, chicken nuggets, grilled chicken wraps and cookies, the site says. QSR Web reported that a drink and a snack together run about $10.
