White Sox Rally Late to Defeat Rangers 11-7

Tristan Peters Leads Offensive Surge

Tristan Peters provided the decisive power for the Chicago White Sox with a third-inning home run, helping Chicago overcome a shaky start to defeat the Texas Rangers 11-7 on Tuesday night at Rate Field. The victory improved the White Sox record to 69-63, while the Rangers fell to 66-67.

Chicago took control early in the first inning, scoring six runs before Texas could answer. Peter Vargas singled to left field, allowing Luke Antonacci to score on a throwing error by Rangers left fielder Evan Langford. Vargas advanced to second, and Masataka Murakami reached third on the same error.

Bo B. Montgomery then singled to left, driving in Murakami. Peters followed with a double to right field, scoring both Vargas and Montgomery. Michael Doyle added an RBI single to center, bringing home C. Montgomery and Peters.

Texas finally got on the board in the second inning when Andrew Benintendi homered to center field, measuring 424 feet. The Rangers attempted a comeback in the fourth, with C. Montgomery singling to center to score Antonacci, followed by an RBI single from Meidroth that brought home B. Montgomery.

White Sox Extend Lead in Fifth

The White Sox broke the game open in the fifth inning with six runs of their own. Andrew Benintendi hit a 399-foot home run to left field, scoring Spencer Torkelson. Matt Duran singled to left, bringing in Caleb Foscue. Luke Antonacci tripled to right, scoring Romo, and Vargas later singled to center to score Antonacci.

Chicago added more runs in the sixth inning. Andrew Benintendi doubled to left, scoring Pete Crow-Armstrong. Caleb Foscue hit a 364-foot home run to left field, scoring Benintetti. Peters capped the rally with a 380-foot home run to right field.

Pitching Performances

Jacob deGrom took the loss for Texas, pitching 3.2 innings and allowing six hits, eight earned runs, and five walks while striking out two. Cole Winn pitched 1.1 innings, giving up five hits and two earned runs. Peyton Gray contributed one inning with two hits allowed and three strikeouts.

Jordan Montgomery and Tyler Alexander each pitched one scoreless inning, combining for one hit, one walk, and three strikeouts.

For Chicago, Anthony Kay pitched 4.2 innings, allowing six hits, four earned runs, and two walks while striking out four. Jordan Hicks gave up four hits and three earned runs in one inning. Bryan Hudson earned the win with 1.1 scoreless innings, retiring all batters he faced without allowing a hit or walk.

Hagen Smith pitched 1.2 innings, allowing one hit and three walks while striking out one. Grant Taylor secured the save with 0.1 perfect innings of work.

The game drew an attendance of 19,892 fans to Rate Field.
