Houston Texans receiver Nico Collins will miss the game against Cincinnati because of a Grade 1 hamstring injury sustained during Wednesday’s practice. He also sat out Houston’s last two practices of the week before being listed as out on the final injury report.
The Texans are expected to divide Collins’ role among several players. Kayshon Boutte, Xavier Hutchinson and Jaylin Noel could see increased chances, while Jayden Higgins is unavailable for the season after tearing his ACL. C.J. Stroud completed passes to 11 players in Houston’s season opener, a 36-31 loss to Buffalo, giving the offense several receiving options as it seeks its first victory.
Collins recorded seven catches, 75 yards and a touchdown in that opener. He has been one of Houston’s leading offensive contributors during the last three seasons. His status for the Week 3 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts has not been determined and remains under evaluation, according to a report from Aaron Wilson. No additional details about his return were provided.
