Houston Texans right tackle Trent Brown rejoined practice Thursday, giving the team another option at his position before Sunday’s Week 3 meeting with the Indianapolis Colts. Wide receiver Nico Collins was not on the field, marking four straight missed sessions since his injury.
Brown has dealt with wrist and knee injuries but has opened both Houston regular-season games. He was chosen for the starting right-tackle job after Braden Smith sustained a preseason foot injury and was placed on injured reserve through the season’s first four weeks. Brown’s two-game totals include four penalties, one sack and eight pressures. If his progress continues, he could remain the starter against Indianapolis.
Collins missed his second practice of the week, and the available report gave no further information about his condition. Blake Fisher and Nate Thomas are listed behind Brown at tackle. Fisher entered the Texans’ organization as a 2024 second-round selection, while Thomas arrived in a trade completed during roster cutdowns.
Brown’s return provides Houston with the possibility of using its regular right-tackle starter against the Colts.
