Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins missed his second consecutive practice with a hamstring injury, leaving his status for the Week 3 game against the Indianapolis Colts unresolved. Houston has one practice left before Sunday’s matchup, and the team had not announced a final decision on Collins.
Collins hurt the hamstring while preparing for Week 2 and then missed Houston’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. In the season opener, the 27-year-old caught seven passes for 75 yards and one touchdown from 10 targets in a 36-31 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
If Collins is unavailable at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Jaylin Noel, Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshon Boutte could take on larger roles. Tight end Dalton Schultz has produced 175 receiving yards on 16 catches through two games, the most downfield production for Houston during that span.
Collins’ next chance to return would come in Week 4, when the Texans are scheduled to host the Dallas Cowboys. He has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of the last three seasons, including 1,117 yards in 2025, putting that run at risk. Collins, who played for the Michigan Wolverines, also received an offseason contract adjustment from Houston.
