Dalton Schultz, the tight end for the Houston Texans, did not take part in the team's three preseason games. Along with Schultz, running back David Montgomery and wide receiver Nico Collins were also absent, while quarterback C.J. Stroud had limited action during the matchup against the Raiders on August 20.
Schultz is coming off a successful 2025 regular season, where he recorded a career-high 82 receptions and 777 receiving yards, his best performance since the 2021 season with the Cowboys, where he achieved 808 yards.
With Jayden Higgins out for the entire 2026 season because of a knee injury and Tank Dell beginning the season on injured reserve, Schultz and Collins are anticipated to be significant targets for Stroud as the season unfolds.
