Gabriel Brooks announced Sept. 17 that he had switched his commitment from Stephen F. Austin to TCU, giving the Horned Frogs their 19th pledge for the 2027 class. The class is ranked No. 54 nationally and No. 8 in the Big 12, according to a report from sports.yahoo.com.

Brooks said conversations with his family and personal prayer helped guide the decision. He also said staying near home was part of the choice. The North Crowley offensive tackle is 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 265 pounds.

His previous offers were mainly from Football Championship Subdivision schools, including SFA and Southern University. TCU became his first Football Bowl Subdivision offer, and Brooks selected the chance to play in the Power Four.

North Crowley began the season 3-0, with wins over Aledo, Southlake Carroll and Summer Creek, which is from the Houston area. The Panthers are scheduled to visit Duncanville at 7 p.m. Friday.
