Liufau, drafted in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft from Notre Dame, has played in all 34 games for the Cowboys over the last two seasons. Last season, Liufau significantly increased his involvement in special teams, participating in 75% of the snaps compared to 35% in his rookie year. He recognizes the importance of special teams for securing roster positions and emphasized teamwork over personal pride. Schottenheimer acknowledged the impact of Liufau's absence, noting the challenges it presents while also highlighting his vital contributions across all special teams phases.
