The Dallas Cowboys have selected Curtis Robinson and Justin Barron from their practice squad for the Week 2 meeting with the Washington Commanders, which is set to be Dallas’ home opener. The moves give the team more linebacker and special-teams options after DeMarvion Overshown suffered a hamstring injury.
Dallas has not announced when he might return and opted not to sign a veteran for the game.
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Friday that rookie Jaishawn Barham will wear the green-dot helmet while Overshown is unavailable. Overshown was one of three Cowboys fined after Dallas lost 20-28 to the New York Giants in Week 1. The league assessed him $9,527 for a late hit against quarterback Jaxson Dart.
Outside linebacker Donovan Ezeiruaku received an $11,941 fine for a fourth-quarter facemask, and running back Javonte Williams was fined $11,941 for unsportsmanlike conduct involving taunting.
Blogging The Boys reported that Dallas’ linebackers and safeties will be tested by Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels and the Commanders’ offense. The report pointed to stronger play in the center of the Cowboys’ defense as an important area in Week 2. Von Miller, who spent the 2025 season with Washington, also could receive attention after playing 11 snaps in his Dallas debut against New York.
