Baylor University quarterback DJ Lagway is currently listed as day-to-day because of an ankle injury, according to head coach Dave Aranda. The decision on Lagway's participation in the upcoming game against Prairie View A&M on Saturday will hinge on how he performs in practice this week.

In his debut with the Bears, Lagway threw for 333 yards, completing 27 of 54 passes, and recorded two touchdowns alongside one interception in a close 17-16 loss to Auburn. The Bears fell short after failing to convert a critical two-point conversion at the game's conclusion.

Auburn's head coach Alex Golesh commended Lagway's determination, emphasizing his ability to persist despite being injured. Golesh remarked on Lagway's toughness, highlighting that he sustained an injury early in the game and continued to play.

Lagway, who transferred to Baylor after spending two seasons with the Florida Gators, was a highly touted recruit, ranked No. 3 in his class. He initially started for Florida but entered the transfer portal following a coaching change. Last season, he accumulated 2,264 yards, with 16 touchdowns and 14 interceptions, as the Gators finished with a 4-8 record.

Tim Tebow, a former Florida quarterback, suggested that Lagway needed a fresh start and expressed optimism about his future at Baylor. Further updates on Lagway's injury and game status are yet to be announced.
