The NFL has fined both the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints $500,000 each due to multiple altercations that occurred during a joint practice. This decision follows a series of fights that reportedly involved over ten incidents, including pushing and punches thrown during the session.

In a recent practice, tight end Jake Ferguson and linebacker DeMarvion Overshown were involved in a confrontation that began when Ferguson reacted to a tackle by throwing the ball at Overshown. Fortunately, the situation was quickly de-escalated. Notably, Cowboys edge rusher Donovan Ezeiruaku was ejected after throwing a punch, marking his second ejection this training camp.

Head coach Brian Schottenheimer voiced his disappointment regarding the fights, emphasizing that they detracted from valuable practice time. He highlighted the need for the team to concentrate on their training. With joint practices now finished, the Cowboys are set to prepare for their preseason matchup with the Arizona Cardinals this weekend.
