A football player from Crandall High School sustained an injury during practice and was airlifted for medical care. This incident occurred at the PIT in Crandall, a community located about 20 miles east of Dallas.

The Crandall Independent School District (ISD) communicated with the community via social media, informing them about the helicopter landing near the baseball fields to assist in the student's transport. The district acknowledged that the sight of emergency vehicles and the helicopter might cause concern and aimed to keep families informed.

In their statement, Crandall ISD requested that the community respect the family's privacy during this challenging time, expressing, "Our thoughts are with the student and the student's family." CBS News Texas will provide additional updates as more information becomes available.
