The Cowboys will use Jaishawn Barham in a larger role at linebacker and are expected to give second-year cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. more playing time against the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil. Dallas enters the Week 3 matchup at 1-1, the same record as Baltimore.
Cornerback Cobie Durant, safeties Malik Hooker and P.J. Locke, and linebacker DeMarvion Overshown are ruled out. None practiced Wednesday or Thursday, and the four will not travel to Rio de Janeiro.
Durant has a hamstring injury suffered in Dallas’ win over Washington after starting the team’s first two games and playing 87 defensive snaps. He joined the Cowboys this offseason following four seasons with the Rams and was expected to miss multiple weeks.
Hooker has been unavailable since fracturing his forearm after 12 defensive snaps in the season opener against the New York Giants. Locke started against Washington and played 31 defensive snaps before tearing the plantar fascia in his foot. Overshown, who had seven tackles before leaving the opener with a hamstring strain, will miss his second consecutive game.
The game is scheduled for 3:25 p.m. CT at Maracanã Stadium, with Dallas designated as the home team.
