The Dallas Cowboys have officially trimmed their roster from 91 players to the mandated 53 in preparation for the 2026 NFL season. This update comes as the team gears up for their season opener in East Rutherford, while also working on finalizing their practice squad.
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer remarked that this year's roster cuts were particularly difficult due to the team's depth and talent. The Cowboys' initial roster features three quarterbacks, three running backs, and six wide receivers, among other positions.
The roster includes Dak Prescott, Joe Milton, and Sam Howell at quarterback; Javonte Williams, Malik Davis, and Hunter Luepke at running back; and CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and Ryan Flournoy as wide receivers. The team has also placed several players on injured reserve or the physically unable to perform list, including linebacker Marist Liufau and cornerback Devin Moore.
Additional roster changes are expected as the Cowboys finalize their preparations for the season's start.
