Nico Collins may be available for Houston’s Week 4 meeting with Dallas, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported. The Texans receiver is unavailable for Week 3 because of a hamstring injury, but Schefter said a return against the Cowboys is possible.
Collins has appeared in one game this season, Houston’s Week 1 loss to Buffalo. He finished that game with seven receptions, 75 yards and a touchdown. Houston quarterback C.J. Stroud has taken the Texans to the playoffs, and the team reached the postseason last year before falling to the New England Patriots.
Dallas is also managing uncertainty in its defensive backfield. Cobie Durant, Malik Hooker and P.J. Locke are all unavailable for the Cowboys’ Week 3 game against Baltimore in Brazil, and their status for the Texans contest remains unknown.
DaRon Bland and Shavon Revel are currently playing cornerback for Dallas. The Cowboys rank 17th in pass defense entering Week 3, giving up 218 yards per game. Caleb Downs has also joined the secondary and stepped up, though the source said the group has more work to do.
The report mentioned a potential Dallas move for Pittsburgh cornerback Joey Porter Jr., but no trade was reported as completed. No additional Week 4 injury details were provided.
