The Green Bay Packers have agreed to sign guard Laken Tomlinson from the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad, NFL Network reporters Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported. Dallas now has Marcellus Johnson and Wanya Morris as its two practice-squad offensive linemen.
Tomlinson, 34, joined Dallas earlier this month when All-Pro guard Tyler Smith was placed on injured reserve after thumb surgery. He did not appear in the Cowboys’ first two games, and his timing for a Packers debut has not been announced. Smith can return after Week 4.
Johnson is listed at tackle and has not played in an NFL game. Morris has lined up at both left and right tackle during his three-year career.
Detroit selected Tomlinson in the first round of the 2015 draft. He has played 173 games and started 162 across 11 NFL seasons, including a 2021 Pro Bowl selection with San Francisco. His other teams have included the New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans, for whom he appeared in 10 games in 2025.
Last season with Houston, he surrendered three sacks and 11 pressures.
Green Bay has had offensive-line injuries, with Aaron Banks and Zach Bako-Bewele missing Week 3. Bako-Bewele will miss the rest of the season because of a torn patellar tendon. Jordan Love has been sacked eight times, and Pro Football Focus credits the Packers with 57 pressures through three games.
