North Texas Mean Green Appoints Tayven Jackson as Starting Quarterback

Tayven Jackson has been designated as the starting quarterback for the North Texas Mean Green as they gear up to compete against Indiana University on September 5, 2026. Jackson, who has a diverse college football background, previously played for the Hoosiers.

In 2022, he had limited playing time at Tennessee before participating in 13 games with Indiana during the 2023-24 season, where he recorded a completion percentage of 61.2% with six touchdowns and six interceptions.

After transferring to the University of Central Florida in 2025, Jackson achieved a completion rate of 63.5%, passing for 2,151 yards while throwing ten touchdowns and eight interceptions, aiding the Knights to a 5-7 season.

Prior to his college career, he excelled at Center Grove High School, amassing 4,813 passing yards and 47 touchdowns from 2018 to 2021, leading his team to an undefeated Class 6A championship. Tayven Jackson is also the brother of Trayce Jackson-Davis, a notable Indiana Mr. Basketball in 2019 and currently in his fourth season with the Toronto Raptors.

The upcoming game between North Texas and Indiana will start at noon and will be available on Fox.
