The Dallas Cowboys are changing who communicates defensive calls for their Week 2 matchup with the Washington Commanders. Rookie linebacker Jaishawn Barham will wear the green dot and handle the responsibility Sunday, coach Brian Schottenheimer confirmed.

The adjustment follows Dallas’ 28-point loss to the New York Giants in Week 1, when the Cowboys struggled to contain the Giants’ offense. Barham was selected in the third round out of Michigan. Defensive coordinator Christian Parker made the change as Dallas prepares for Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels.

The matchup is an NFC East meeting between teams that each lost to division opponents in Week 1. Dallas’ offensive performance against Washington’s defense and Barham’s management of the Cowboys’ defensive communication are among the developments leading into the game, according to sportingnews.com.
