As the Houston Texans gear up for the 2026 season, several players are expected to see significant changes in their roles compared to the previous year. The adjustments aim to strengthen the team as they prepare for upcoming challenges.
Running back Woody Marks, who took on a lead role last season due to Joe Mixon's injury, is anticipated to shift to a change-of-pace position. With the addition of David Montgomery as the primary runner, Marks will focus more on third-down situations, leveraging his speed and receiving skills.
Wide receiver Jaylin Noel is also poised for increased opportunities. After mainly contributing on special teams last season, Noel is expected to step into a more significant role following the departure of Christian Kirk and Jayden Higgins' season-ending injury. His offseason performance has positioned him as a potential breakout player.
Additionally, Jake Andrews, who was the starting center last year, will now serve as a backup after the Texans signed Evan Brown for the starting position. Despite this shift, Andrews remains on the 53-man roster, reflecting the team's confidence in his abilities.
These changes highlight the Texans' strategy to enhance their offensive capabilities as they move closer to the new season.
