Free Owl & Howl Prowl will explore nighttime wildlife Oct. 28

The guided Shoreline Trail walk in The Colony covers roughly one to two miles. Meet at the Ridgepointe trailhead at 6:15 p.m.

A free guided walk on The Colony’s Shoreline Trail will focus on wildlife active after dark Wednesday, Oct. 28.

Owl & Howl Prowl runs from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., with participants asked to gather at 6:15 p.m. at the Ridgepointe trailhead, where Lakeshore Boulevard meets Lake Ridge Drive.

Keep The Colony Beautiful and Texas Master Naturalist Donna Cole will lead the outing. The route is approximately one to two miles round trip, with attention to animal tracks, nighttime sounds and other signs of wildlife.

The city recommends comfortable walking shoes, clothing suited to the weather and water. Participants may also bring insect repellent, binoculars and a flashlight.

The event is open to the public. The city’s calendar provides the location and schedule for visitors planning their evening.
