The City of The Colony has released the schedule for the Liberty by the Lake Independence Day celebration. The day begins at 7:30 a.m. with the Liberty by the Lake 5K and Fun Run at Stewart Creek Park. At 10 a.m., the Independence Day parade will travel from Peters Colony Elementary along Nash Drive and Blair Oaks Drive, ending at The Colony High School.

The evening festival runs from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at The Athletic Club. The event includes food vendors, a vendor expo, and family-friendly activities. A watermelon eating contest for ages 10 and up will take place during the festival at 7 p.m, with registration open now. New this year, a carnival will be part of the Family Fun Zone festivities, running Thursday through Sunday, July 2-5. All-you-can-ride wristbands are available for presale at $27 (including fees) through July 1 and will increase to $32 (including fees) after that date.

Live entertainment includes a performance by Emerald City Band’s Elevation and two Lucha Libre wrestling shows scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. A free shuttle service will transport guests from The Colony Recreation Center and Griffin Middle School parking lots directly to the festival entrance. The first shuttle will start at 6 p.m. and the last shuttle will depart the festival at 11 p.m.

The celebration concludes with a fireworks finale at 9:30 p.m., honoring Independence Day and 250 years of American history. For more information about event details, registration, and wristband purchases, residents can visit LibertyByTheLake.com.
