Universal Kids Resort has officially opened its doors in Frisco, prompting nearby commercial operators to position themselves for long-term expansion. Business owners in the area are hoping the new attraction will generate sustained economic activity beyond the initial wave of visitors seeking entertainment.

The Brunch District, a restaurant that opened approximately one month ago, is situated just down the road from the resort. Christian Navarro, the establishment's manager, noted that while daily traffic fluctuates, weekends see stronger performance. He expressed confidence that as more tourists discover the location, foot traffic will rise significantly. Navarro pointed to the proximity of other major destinations, including The Fields and the PGA, alongside the new resort, as key factors in the area's potential.

Navarro, a Frisco resident for nine years, has observed the rapid transformation of the local landscape. He recalled a time when the area consisted largely of open land, dirt roads, and two-lane streets. He described the current status of the corridor as one of the fastest-growing in North Texas, noting the speed of its development.

While rapid growth often raises concerns about congestion, city officials state they prepared for the influx of visitors. Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney said the city’s engineering team addressed infrastructure needs before the resort’s opening. He explained that planners deliberately combined office, entertainment, and tourism developments along the Dallas North Tollway to distribute traffic more evenly throughout the day. Cheney described this mixed-use approach as a strategy to mitigate peak-hour congestion that typically accompanies single-purpose office zones.

Local business owners remain optimistic about the future. Navarro described the current mix of attractions and developments as a strong foundation for success. Further details regarding specific revenue projections or long-term lease agreements for nearby properties are not yet clear.
