Swing Fore Miracles Golf Event Returns to The Colony

The Children’s Medical Center Foundation is set to host its sixth annual Swing Fore Miracles event on Friday, November 6, at Topgolf The Colony. Presented by Neighborhood Credit Union, the fundraiser aims to gather corporate partners, golf enthusiasts, and local residents to support pediatric care services.

This year’s Honorary Patient Chair is Avery Lilly, a 16-year-old high school golfer and former patient. The DFW Chapter of the National Football League Alumni Association serves as the Honorary Chair. Since the event began, it has attracted over 100 businesses and generated more than $1 million for Children’s Health.

Swing Fore Miracles is a signature Play Yellow initiative for the foundation. It combines team-based Topgolf play with fundraising efforts to aid pediatric care. Funds raised this year will support the new Dallas pediatric campus, a joint project between Children’s Health and UT Southwestern Medical Center.

The facility is designed to serve as a hub for innovation, academic research, training, and the advancement of lifesaving technologies.

Brent Christopher, president of the Children’s Medical Center Foundation, emphasized the importance of community collaboration in improving children’s lives. He expressed gratitude to the NFL Alumni Association, sponsors, and supporters. Christopher highlighted Avery Lilly’s role as an inspiring figure for the event.

Lilly was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2023 at age 13. He underwent two brain surgeries and years of treatment at Children’s Medical Center Dallas. In April 2026, he celebrated the end of his cancer treatment by ringing the bell at Children’s Health. He now plays on the golf team and marches in the band at Longview Pinetree High School.

As Honorary Patient Chair, Lilly hopes to encourage other children and families facing medical challenges. He shared that Children’s Health has been a significant part of his life during difficult times. Ringing the bell was an emotional milestone, and he wants his story to remind others to look toward brighter days.

Byron Williams, president of the DFW Chapter of the National Football League Alumni Association, stated that the organization is honored to support Children’s Health. He noted that the event unites the community in supporting children and families when they need help most.
