Aidan Curry delivered a dominant pitching performance for the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders, recording 11 strikeouts over 5.2 innings in a win against the Midland RockHounds. The outing, which occurred earlier this week, established a season high for the 23-year-old right-hander and marked the first time he has reached double-digit strikeouts in a single game this season.

Curry has been working to stabilize his performance since his promotion to Frisco in late May. His debut with the team on May 26 against Arkansas was difficult; he allowed seven earned runs and four walks in just three innings. He followed that start with six earned runs on June 2, but his command improved steadily through the month. He allowed three earned runs on June 9, two on June 16, three on June 23, and two on June 30.

The pitcher finished June with a 2-1 record and a 5.14 earned run average across five starts. During that span, he struck out 34 batters while issuing eight walks in 28 innings. Opposing hitters posted a .236 batting average against him. Notably, Curry has pitched at least five innings in each of his last four starts, including two outings of at least six innings. Prior to joining Frisco, he had only two starts at High-A Hub City that reached the five-inning threshold.

The increased workload suggests the organization is focusing on building his stamina as a starter. Curry, a native of Ossining, New York, was signed by the Rangers out of Fordham Prep in 2020. He missed the 2020 season due to the pandemic and began his professional career in 2021. This marks his first assignment to Frisco after five years in the Rangers system.

Curry enters his next start with a career minor league record of 19-19 and a 4.87 ERA. He has accumulated 482 strikeouts and 192 walks across 382.2 innings in his professional career. It remains unclear when he might be promoted to Triple-A Round Rock, though his recent consistency has drawn attention from the player development staff.

Frisco is about 6 miles northeast of The Colony.
