A North Texas woman has been sentenced to 25 years in prison following a murder conviction related to the death of her infant child. Vanessa Esquivel, 27, received the sentence after investigators determined she left her 15-month-old son inside a parked vehicle in Frisco during August.

According to police reports, Esquivel left the child in the car outside her workplace. The vehicle remained stationary for more than two hours without functioning air conditioning. During that time, outdoor temperatures climbed to at least 95 degrees.

The incident occurred in Frisco, which is located about 6 miles northeast of The Colony. Police stated that the combination of the enclosed space, lack of cooling, and high heat led to the child's death.

Esquivel was found guilty of murder based on these circumstances. The court proceedings concluded with the 25-year prison term being handed down to her.

Details regarding the specific date of the sentencing or the exact location of her workplace within Frisco are not yet clear. Further information about the case is also not yet available.
