The final two runs of Saturday’s contest came in dramatic fashion, shifting momentum decisively toward the home team. In the sixth inning, Jose Altuve tied the score at 2-2 with a single to left field that drove in Wander Franco. However, Tampa Bay regained the lead in the seventh when Luis Robert Jr. hit a sacrifice fly to center field.
The play allowed Isiah Kiner-Falefa to cross home plate, putting the Rays ahead 3-2 for good.
Offensive Highlights
Houston initially took control in the first inning when Yordan Alvarez launched a 391-foot home run to left-center field, giving the visitors a 1-0 advantage. The Astros added another run in the fifth inning when Jose Abreu singled to center, scoring two teammates and extending their lead to 2-1.
Tampa Bay responded with a key hit from Wander Franco in the sixth, tying the game before Luis Robert Jr.’s heroics in the seventh provided the difference. The Rays’ offense was supported by strong pitching performances that kept Houston’s powerful lineup in check for most of the evening.

Ian Seymour started for Tampa Bay and delivered a solid outing, pitching six innings while allowing two earned runs on four hits. He struck out ten batters but walked one. Tyler Wells took over in the eighth inning and was flawless, retiring all three batters he faced without allowing a hit or a walk while recording two strikeouts.
