Houston managed a response in that same frame when Peña homered to left center for a run, making the score 4-1.

Astros Strike Back, But Fall Short

Houston attempted to mount a comeback in the second inning when Smith hit a 440-foot home run to left field, narrowing the gap to 4-2. In the fourth inning, Altuve added another run with a 353-foot home run to left, bringing the Astros within one at 4-3. However, Chicago's bullpen held firm to preserve the lead.

The game ended in the sixth inning when Meidroth hit a 390-foot home run to left field, scoring Acuña and Peters to put the game out of reach at 7-3.
