Astros Extend Lead With Late Homers

The Houston Astros secured a 6-3 victory over the New York Mets on Sunday, Aug. 30, at Citi Field. The decisive momentum shifted in the sixth inning when Wade Jr. hit a home run to right field, driving in Diaz for a pair of runs. That blow extended Houston's lead to 4-3, a cushion the Astros would expand further in the seventh.

Scoring Sequence

The game opened with a home run barrage. In the first inning, Peña hit a home run to center, followed by Lindor’s home run to right and Soto’s home run to center. The score stood at 2-2 after the first frame.
