The Colony, Texas — Gas prices in the Dallas area averaged $3.6260 per gallon for regular unleaded on July 19, 2026, according to AAA, down from $3.6430 yesterday. That is up from $3.3760 a week ago but higher than $3.3920 a month ago.
The statewide average in Texas stands at $3.5640, while the national average is $3.9980. Drivers in the Dallas area are paying above the state average and below the national average.
The Dallas average remains below its AAA recorded high of $4.8370. Regular prices are about 23 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $2.8330, drivers are paying about 79 cents more per gallon.
Diesel in the Dallas area averages $4.8010 per gallon, AAA reported.

The U.S. House voted 308 to 117 to pass the Sunshine Protection Act, which would end the twice-yearly clock change. Rep. Gill voted YES. The bill now awaits a vote in the Senate.

The Texas Workforce Commission reported that total nonfarm jobs rose to 14,469,600 in June, a gain of 43,400 positions during the month. Over the trailing 12 months, the state added 177,900 jobs and grew faster than the nation as a whole.
