Topgolf has started construction on a two-level golf and entertainment venue at Valley Children’s Hospital’s Central California campus in Madera, California. The company marked the groundbreaking on Oct. 6, 2026, and expects the first guests to arrive in summer 2027.

The venue is planned as a technology-based golf and entertainment destination for people of varying skill levels. It will be the first major tenant in a community development district planned for the hospital campus.

Valley Children’s broader development vision includes retail, restaurants, hospitality and entertainment offerings. Topgolf’s arrival is intended to begin that district’s development, although the source does not identify additional tenants or provide details about the project’s construction schedule.

Topgolf CEO David McKillips described the partnership as connected to the company’s goal of bringing people together and Valley Children’s work with families across the Valley. “This venue brings something new to our California footprint, and we couldn't be prouder to help strengthen this community for years to come,” McKillips said.

Food and beverage service is part of Topgolf’s entertainment model, according to the report. The source did not provide the venue’s address, planned number of hitting bays, construction cost or details about future restaurants and retailers in the district.
