SCHEELS is preparing to open its newest location in Cedar Park with a community-focused grand opening event scheduled for Saturday, August 29. The retailer has organized a multi-phase celebration that begins before the store officially opens to the public.
The festivities will start at 7 a.m. in the parking lot of the new facility located at 750 New Hope Drive. This initial phase is designed as a family-friendly party zone intended for guests, outdoor enthusiasts, and sports fans to gather before the doors unlock. The official store opening is set for 9:30 a.m., allowing visitors to enter and begin exploring the interior.
SCHEELS describes its Cedar Park location as more than a traditional sporting goods retailer. The company states that the facility combines outdoor gear, footwear, fashion, and specialty services under one roof. To differentiate itself from standard retail stores, the company highlights several on-site attractions designed for visitor engagement.
Inside the store, guests can access a 65-foot Ferris wheel and view a 16,000-gallon aquarium. The layout includes interactive specialty departments where associates provide guidance on products and hobbies. The company aims to encourage visitors to spend time browsing and discovering new activities rather than simply making quick purchases.
The decision to locate in Cedar Park was based on the area’s connection to sports and active lifestyles, according to the retailer. SCHEELS stated it intends to support local initiatives and build relationships within the community as part of its long-term presence in Central Texas.
