Third quarter flips it

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers scored 17 straight points in the third quarter and held on to beat the Dallas Cowboys 24-16 on Thursday night at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

Dallas led 10-7 at halftime. Tampa Bay took the lead on Emeka Egbuka's 14-yard touchdown run one minute into the second half, then went up 21-10 on Bucky Irving's 1-yard run. Chase McLaughlin's 41-yard field goal made it 24-10 with 2:58 left in the quarter.

Irving does both

Irving ran for 165 yards on 21 carries and scored twice, once on the ground and once on a 5-yard catch from Jalon Daniels that tied the game 7-7 early in the second quarter. Daniels completed 19 of 25 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown without an interception. Tez Johnson's only catch went for 64 yards.

Dallas comes up short

The Cowboys scored first on Javonte Williams' 1-yard run in the first quarter, and Brandon Aubrey's 41-yard field goal with 21 seconds left in the half put them back in front 10-7.

Dak Prescott threw for 316 yards, completing 24 of 42 passes with a touchdown and two interceptions. George Pickens caught nine passes for 130 yards, including an 18-yard touchdown with 5:26 to play, but the two-point try failed. Williams ran for 45 yards on 12 carries.
