A Late Surge Seals Victory
The Arizona Cardinals completed a dramatic comeback to defeat the Dallas Cowboys 33-30 in overtime at AT&T Stadium on Sunday. The victory, secured by Chad Ryland’s 42-yard field goal in the extra period, improved both teams’ records to 3-5 as they remain in the thick of the NFC West race.
Second Half Momentum Shifts
Dallas opened the scoring early with James Mitchell’s fumble recovery for a touchdown and a subsequent kick by Brandon Aubrey. The Cowboys extended their lead to 14-0 before Ryland answered with a 37-yard field goal in the second quarter.
The turning point came late in the third quarter when Tyler Allgeier broke loose for a 63-yard rushing touchdown, cutting the deficit to 17-10. Arizona’s offense found its rhythm in the fourth quarter behind Minshew II, who threw three touchdown passes. His connections with Michael Wilson (two scores) and Trey McBride helped erase the gap, while Allgeier added another short touchdown run.
Prescott’s Effort Falls Short
Despite Dak Prescott throwing for 195 yards and a touchdown, along with a rushing score, the Cowboys could not hold off the Cardinals’ late rally. Prescott completed 19 of 29 passes, but his efforts were undermined by defensive lapses that allowed Arizona to take control.
