A Late Equalizer Secures the Split
Austin FC and San Jose Earthquakes shared the spoils in a tightly contested Western Conference matchup that concluded with a 1-1 draw. The result, finalized late into stoppage time, prevented either side from claiming a decisive victory at Q2 Stadium.
The Goals That Defined the Match
San Jose Earthquakes took an early advantage when Beau Leroux found the back of the net in the eighth minute. His goal provided San Jose with a lead that held firm for the vast majority of the ninety-minute regulation period.
Austin FC searched for an equalizer throughout the second half, but it was not until the final moments of the match that they were able to break through. In the 96th minute (recorded as 90'+6'), Guilherme Biro scored for the home side, canceling out Leroux’s opener and ensuring the match ended level.
